FLINT, Mich. — On Saturday, July 17th, from 1-4 p.m., a Praise Fest and Community Resource Summit will be held at St. Mary’s Church and Catholic Community of Flint, located at 2500 N Franklin Ave in Flint. The Flint Registry is pleased to partner with this event, along with several community-based partners and organizations.
This family-friendly event is free and open to the community. The first 200 attendees will receive a Flint Fresh Bag. Praise Fest will feature service providers and resources for attendees to connect with, including on-site enrollment for various programs and employment and training opportunities.
Staff from Genesee Community Health Center will be present to administer COVID-19 vaccines to those 12 and older.
“I can’t wait to share all the wonderful resources with Flint families, not to mention ice cream and popcorn, and finally connect with people in person,” said Kenyetta Dotson from the Flint Registry and one of the Praise Fest Organizers.
In addition to resources, the event includes live music, community speakers, praise dancers, free resources bags, sink and shower filters, ice cream and popcorn, life-size Jenga, and other children and adult-friendly activities.
Flint Registry staff will be onsite to answer questions and help individuals enroll in the Flint Registry. In addition to a mailed $50 Thank You check, all Praise Fest attendees who enroll in the Flint Registry on-site will receive an additional $25 Flint Farmers’ Market gift certificate.
