Medicaid Redetermination Process
The Medicaid redetermination process is designed to ensure that individuals who receive Medicaid benefits are still eligible for the program.
Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) has had a continuous coverage policy for Medicaid eligibility since January 1, 2020, because of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. This continuous coverage has come to an end, which means MDHHS has restarted Medicaid redeterminations as of June 2023. During the redetermination process, residents can expect to receive a notice letter (about three months prior) stating they are up for redetermination soon, a renewal packet (about two months prior), and, ultimately, a final decision from the state during the month of their renewal. Individuals are required to provide updated information about their income, household size, and other factors that may affect eligibility for Medicaid. There are several community entities that are available to help with the renewal process.

“Mental Health is Public Health” Virtual Summit Recap
The Flint Registry hosted a Mental Health Summit on Thursday, August 3rd.
Mental health is important at all stages of life. From youth through adulthood, there are resources, services, and practices for individuals, families, and communities to know and incorporate. The Flint Registry conversed with community partners for an online summit with experts and panelists discussing information and resources about mental health.
The goal was to inform residents about key mental health concerns, community resources, and provide a space for shared concerns and community needs.
