Flint Registry Connects Community with Resourceful Organizations

The Flint Registry is excited to host a spring Community Resource Fair scheduled for Thursday, May 19, 2022 from 4 – 6 pm.  The Fair will be virtual and held via ZOOM.  Partnering agencies will promote awareness which educates, informs and provides greater access to residents, families, and individuals to much needed resources and services.   As we prepare for this upcoming event, participants will have the opportunity to take full advantage of the following information:

  • Pediatric Public Health Initiative (PPHI) Flint Kids Cook/ PPHI Scholarship Opportunity –  Community-based programs associated with MSU (Connecting families to resources, enrollment, family and youth programs)
  • Flint Genesee Job Corps – A career training and education facility which offers residential living, daily meals, wellness, recreation, free drivers education, employment, and more. We share a partnership with Mott Community College, offering additional trades.
  • Genesee Health System (GHS) – Lead Safe Home program, 24/7 Behavioral Health, crisis line for youth and adults,  etc.
  • City of Flint Public Health Officer & Navigators –  offers services and referrals at City Hall to community organizations.  Flint residents can also visit Flint City Hall from 9 am until 4 pm to receive water test kits and filters for their home.
  • Greater Flint Health Coalition (Connect Kids to Services) – Family supports, Health insurance access, etc.
  • MDHHS  Discuss foster parent and caregiver program, ways individuals can be a loving foster parent to a child in need
  • Wellness Services –   HIV education, testing & case management services. Naloxone/Narcan distribution through the syringe service program, STEP. Recently opened Live Well Clinic for LGBTQ+ & gender affirming care.
  • Peckham –Safe place for youth, employment opportunities, job, social skills, and support services.
  • GST MI Works – Will discuss theYoung Professionals Paid Work Experience Program, designed to help youth (ages 18-24) in our community gain valuable work experience that will help them obtain full time employment.
  • Valley Area Agency on Aging – No Wrong Door.  Provides answers, action and advocacy on care for the elderly and disabled adults of Genesee, Lapeer, and Shiawassee Counties.
