The Flint Registry is one of the vital PPHI programs addressing the Flint community’s population-wide crisis and helping all Flint children grow up healthy and strong.

Jada and Lexi share their experience from the PPHI Intern Program and working with the Flint Registry below:

Jada, PPHI Summer Intern 2022

“I became interested in PPHI and the Flint Registry because I know many people in the Flint community, most of them being family and friends. So that means I am always in Flint, either visiting briefly or spending long periods there. Being in the area frequently, I already knew of the organization and the wonderful opportunities they give to the community. It was great that I found this opportunity to help the community my family, friends, and I deeply connected to.

My summer with this program was amazing, to say the least. I got to meet so many new and wonderful people. I was able to make new friends and connections with people in and outside of the community. I could also make connections with the community itself, either through fulfilling projects or community events. This was a wonderful way to spend my summer and an experience of a lifetime.”

Lexi, PPHI Summer Intern 2022

“I am so glad I was lucky enough to be given this opportunity to be a part of the Flint Registry team for a few short months. This internship opened my view of the public health field and the different career pathways I could take.

This summer working with PPHI has flown by & it will be one to remember since it provided me with an excellent experience to explore the public health world. While working with PPHI, I gained beneficial experience in the public health field. While doing so, I was fortunate enough to make connections along the way, which is what I was looking for through this internship!”
